ABOUT OUR ORGANIC FARM
The Rinehart family owns and operates 230 acres of USDA Certified Organic farmland in Sullivan County, Indiana.
Here are some of the benefits of our organic farming practices:

We have captured carbon from the air and put into our soil by increasing organic matter from 0.7% to almost 3%.

Increased carbon in the soil allows higher rain infiltration and therefore less downstream flooding from our fields.

Minimum tillage is less disturbing to animal habitat, which has led to an abundance of wildlife in our fields, including mice, skunks, possums, coyotes, red tail hawks, and barn owls.

We've seen a sharp increase in native pollinators and bees on the farm, taking advantage of food and habitat provided by flowering cover crops like clover, buckwheat and vetch.
We raise pigs and chickens on organic pasture and grow certified organic wheat, rye, soybeans and corn, including heirloom varieties like Earth Tones Dent. New to 2018 will be fresh produce, including tomatoes and green beans.
